Bodyport “Brand Video”

When Bodyport received FDA approval for their revolutionary Cardiac Scale, they needed an updated website with a hero video to drive interest among investors and doctors. The tool allows doctors to track daily measurements from their patients without an office visit and has huge potential. The team at Pivot Design was up for the challenge.

Creating a brand video for a company that just launched can be pretty difficult as there aren’t many assets to work with. I was tasked with editing and animating, so I sourced the stock footage. We decided to use all washed out cinematography to give the viewer a lightweight feeling of ease throughout the whole video.

The dot treatment throughout was really fun to animate. I used a combination of fractal noise and gradients to fuel the animation with each dot scripted to scale based on white values. The Cardiac Scale compositions were also fun to composite. We didn’t have the scale available in person so we had to composite it into the stock footage.

One of the other fun aspects of this project was the website. The developers at Pivot Design wanted this website to also feel easy so the animations needed to be lottie for quick loading. The dot effect I built for the video would not export as a json file as is so I had to rebuild it so it would work for web. You can check out some of the additional animations below, or visit the Bodyport website to see more.
